These are 'white fillings'. They are routinely paced in front of teeth but can now also be used to restore back teeth using special composite instead of the amalgam (silver) fillings, thus creating a more natural looking restoration.
Posterior Cosmetic Inlay
Inlays are usuall recommended for large cavities. They are made of either wear resistant composite or porcelain. They are precision made in the laboratory and are fixed using special bonding cements. These restorations provide good aesthetics and are very durable.
Veneers are used to hide discoloured, stained, chipped or slightly malaligned teeth. They are made of porcelain and attached to the front teeth, very similar to placing a false fingernail. They provide a simple and effective way to improve a smile without damaging the underlying tooth too much.
Teeth whitening is a simple and non -invasive procedure used to improve the appearence of teeth. There are two types of whitening available, either carried out at home or in-surgery. Home whitening is carried out by providing the patient with custom-made trays which are then filled with whitening gel and worn at home for a few hours or overnight over a period of several days to whiten teeth. The in-surgery whitening takes around two hours and is carried out in the surgery using a high- powered light source. The results for this type of whitening are more immediate than home whitening, however results may be topped up at home using the home whitening method at a later date.
